Leduc County, in accordance with Section 692(2) of the Municipal Government Act, is hosting a public hearing on the following:

New Sarepta Area Structure Plan amendment

Leduc County has initiated an amendment of the New Sarepta Area Structure Plan (ASP) by adding 1.48 ha of mixed business and 6.47 ha of parks, open Space, recreation and environmental features east of Centre Street and south of New Sarepta Elementary. The area is described as the SW ¼ Section 34 Township 49 Range 22 W4M (Plan 8622631 Lot 5). The intention of the amendment is to facilitate the development of recreation grounds and adjust the area for existing mixed-business use.

Proposed amendment to the Land-use Bylaw No. 7-08

Leduc County is proposing to amend the Land Use Bylaw 7-08. The purpose of the proposed bylaw is to redistrict 6.47 ha (16 ac) of land at Pt. SW 34-49-22-W4M (Plan 8622631 Lot 5), in the Hamlet of New Sarepta, from the Urban Reserve (UR) District to the General Recreation (PR) District. The purpose of the proposed amendment is to allow for the development of recreation grounds.

PUBLIC HEARING

A public hearing on the proposed amendments will be held at the Leduc County regular council meeting on June 25, 2024, at 1:45 p.m. Written or oral submissions can be made by any person who claims to be affected, or from any other person council agrees to hear from.

To speak at the public hearing, individuals are required to register by Friday, June 14, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. This can be done online by clicking the link below or by contacting the legislative coordinator at Lisa.Brown@leduc-county.com or 780-770-9259.
