Notice of public hearing to adopt Northwest Saunders Lake Local ASP and repeal bylaw 27-16
OUTCOME OF PUBLIC HEARING
The proposed plan was approved by Council at the public hearing on Dec. 12, 2023.
The Northwest Saunders Lake Local Area Structure Plan was adopted in 2017 to provide the framework for the long-term growth and development of the plan area. Since that time Leduc County has updated the Municipal Development Plan (2019) as well as adopting the Nisku Major Employment Centre Area Structure Plan (2021).
The Municipal Government Act requires that all statutory plans align with the Municipal Development Plan, so the County has undertaken an update to the Northwest Saunders Lake Local Area Structure Plan to ensure that it aligns with the revised MDP, accurately reflects the changes that have occurred in the plan area since 2017 and aligns with the County’s visual identity. Outside of the textual changes related to changing the documents reference date from 2017 to 2023 and the change to the layout and branding of the document, the intent and direction of the document has been maintained.
Details of the proposed bylaw can be found under 'documents' on the right hand side of this page.
