ABOUT THE PROJECT

  • Content that did not add value was removed from every section of the IDP
  • Section 6.0, Agriculture - Background and Agriculture Polices were added
  • Section 8.0, Industrial Development Strategy was removed in its entirety
  • Section 13.0, Water Development Partnership was removed in its entirety
  • Section 14.0, Community and Institutional was relocated to follow land uses
  • Figure 3 – Air Photo was removed
  • Figure 5 - West Devon Constraints Detail, Figure 6 - Devon Development Constraints,
and Figure 7- Oil and Gas Facilities IDP Area were consolidated
  • Figure 9 - Open Space Network and Figure 10 - Natural Areas were consolidated

The councils for Leduc County and Town of Devon gave second and third reading to their respective bylaws that propose amendments to the IDP. The amendments to the IDP fulfills Section 15.4 of the IDP that requires a mandatory review of the IDP content five years from the date of the final approval of the IDP. The IDP does not stipulate the timing of future reviews. However, administrations for the Town and County will continue to monitor the IDP on an ongoing basis to ensure efficacy of its policies.
