ABOUT THE PROJECT

Notice of public hearing: Land Use Bylaw amendment TA21-002

Leduc County proposed to amend Section 9.11.3 of Land Use Bylaw 07-08. The purpose of the amendment was to allow for the Farm-Based Alcoholic Beverage Production Facility use on a discretionary basis in the Institutional (INS) District.

The proposed amendment was to add an additional discretionary use under the Institutional District which will provide landowners the opportunity to propose a Farm-Based Alcoholic Beverage Production Facility through a development permit application. The amendment benefits the agricultural community. At least 30 per cent of the ingredients used to manufacture the beverages shall be sourced from the operator’s farm operation.

OUTCOME OF PUBLIC HEARING

The proposed amendment was approved by Council at the public hearing on May 11, 2021.
