ABOUT THE PROJECT

Notice of public hearing: Land Use Bylaw 7-08 (amendment LA21-002)

In 2021, Leduc County received an application to amend Land Use Bylaw 07-08. The purpose of the proposed bylaw was to redistrict approximately 3.5 ha± (8.6 ac±) of a 61 ha± (151 ac±) parcel of land located in Pt. NE 28-49-26-W4 from the Agricultural (AG) District to the Direct Control District. The purpose of the proposed amendment was to allow for natural resource extraction (clay) to serve 2021-2022 infrastructure projects in the Town of Devon. Following the completion of the clay extraction, the area would have been placed back in to agricultural use. 

A public hearing on the proposed amendment was held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 2 p.m.

OUTCOME OF PUBLIC HEARING

The proposed amendment was defeated by Council at the public hearing on July 13, 2021.
