Public Hearing: Adopt Bylaw 19-23 Queen Elizabeth II Business Park Local Area Structure Plan
This public participation opportunity has concluded.
At the public hearing on Tuesday, Nov. 14, Council provided third reading and adopted the amended plan.
The Queen Elizabeth II Business Park Local Area Structure Plan was adopted in 2012 to provide the framework for the long-term growth and development of the plan area. Since that time Leduc County has updated the Municipal Development Plan (2019) as well as adopting the Nisku Major Employment Centre Area Structure Plan (2021).
The Municipal Government Act requires that all statutory plans align with the Municipal Development Plan, and so the County has undertaken an update to the Queen Elizabeth II Business Park Local Area Structure Plan to ensure that it aligns with the revised MDP, accurately reflects the changes that have occurred in the plan area since 2012, and that it aligns with the County’s branding standards.
Outside of the textual changes related to moving from 2012 to 2023 and the change to the layout and branding of the document, the intent and direction of the document has been maintained.
