Consultation has concluded. Leduc County appreciates the community providing feedback towards the design of the playground.

This engagement is now closed. Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their park priorities through the survey.

The What we heard report now includes a what we did section. Find it and the design concepts to the right of the page.

Project overview

The East Vistas neighbourhood is growing and currently there is no playground in the community; however, residents have voiced the need for one and a gathering space as well. The Diamond Estates Park green space has been noted as an ideal location to build a new playground and gazebo, and as well a gathering space at Royal Oaks Park.

There is funding through the Community Facility Enhancement Program through the Government of Alberta, as well as through Leduc County. In addition to this funding, the community has gathered and independently raised money to help bolster the project.

The goal is to design and implement a public-use playground and gazebo that will encourage community connection, healthy living, physical activity and inclusion. It will support inclusive and unstructured play to meet the diverse needs of the growing community.

This project will be the first of its kind in the community and will serve neighbouring communities around the East Vistas area – the fastest growing region in Leduc County.

Residents were encouraged to fill in the survey and submit any imagery of other playgrounds or features they wished to be considered.
